Hi everyone!

I will be showing my artwork at the Alpine Body Arts piercing and tattoo parlor located in Bothell, WA between the end of May and the end of July. If you have the time, please come by and take a look! My pieces are on sale now. Please check out the shop page for more information.

I began a series, years ago, that helped stretch how I thought about how to interpret nature as a whole. The first two pieces of that series, Into the Woods and Sunrise, Sunset are both available to view and to buy. The quality of depth in these pieces is better seen up close. I had to take a break from the series because of health issues, but now I am beginning a whole new piece whose inspiration came from the University of Washington cherry trees that bloom every year.

Another set of artworks that you’ll see at Alpine Body Arts are my reductive linocut printworks. Both are set in nature. One is titled In the Chaos There is Calm and the other is titled Untitled Quirk. Both are my first attempts going from pen and ink to reductive print. I wanted to take the elements that I was drawn to in the pen and inks to a whole other level. Printmaking can be eclectic or it can be linear. It all depends on what you want to get out of it. I come to it with my painting background, and so I usually go the more eclectic route. I like to see what a layer of color and texture will do to the layer that follows it. Instead of having each print match the one that came before it, I let each one be their own unique piece. The In the Chaos There is Calm is the last available print to buy, it is one of five pieces. Untitled Quirk has been a year-long project. It is based off a photo I took at the Redmond Watershed—a beautifully unique property with gorgeous landscapes all around.
